The University of Louisiana Monroe is committed to providing a safe, healthy educational environment that is free from violence or threats of violence. This commitment includes the prevention and reduction of the incidence and effects of domestic violence, dating abuse, sexual assault, and stalking.
While issues related to domestic violence, relationship/dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking affect the entire community and region of Northeast Louisiana, university campuses have been identified as environments that have unique dynamics and circumstances so as to warrant specialized and focused forms of prevention and intervention. Thus, ULM has established the Violence Prevention and Intervention Program (VPIP) to provide students and faculty with awareness education and training on the prevention of these forms of victimization.
